Form and Function

18 Jan

We’ve had 2 meetings with the interior designer, she’s given us some wacky ideas and we’re too weak to fight her, we’re going to be using some pretty bold colours, sort of a mexican theme – we like it so far. She took all the samples away or I would have posted them up for all (3) of you to see!

Here is the general idea and colour scheme, as best as I can represent in browser safe colours :)

. . . . . . . . . .

We also went to see the Kitchen company today, looks like we may be able to squeeze granite benchtops into the budget, which would be nice, because they’re shiny! The kitchen guy is coming back to us with a design and price next week some time (we hope).

No more movement at the station, the slab is happily curing while we poison weeds and stuff, the fun never stops!

The colours I am sure do not do them justice on the screen. Thanks for the update -
Kristie – it looks like you are managing to relax quite fine in the hammock with book!!

Love the colours and the granite sounds good but remember – they don’t have stainless steel in Mexico!!

I have granite and have no streaking problems. I do have stain problems. To, once and for all, leave stain problems behind, do what I do:
    1. Face the east at 3:45am
    2. Offer a sacrificial burning sponge to the God of Cleaning, and the Lesser God of Granite Benchtops
    3. Cover body in Vitamin E cream
    4. Moonwalk over the Granite surface
    5. Wipe diagonally across stain 7.3 times

    I guarantee results.

Granite Benchtops are dead sexy, but they have to be kept extra-clean. We have black granite ones here, and a quick wipe with a cloth leaves streaks all over the place.

My tip: wipe with a cloth, but then dry with a teatowell before it has a chance to air-dry, and you too can enjoy streak-free granite goodness :)
